Hi again!
I wasn’t able to complete much this week as I’ve been studying for AP’s, but nonetheless, I would like to reflect a bit on my project and how I might go about presenting my research.
During my research, I had a lot of things going on, whether it was structured within the three presidential debates, the big types of rhetorical techniques used, or even the research/projects used by other academic scholars/researchers to identify Trump’s language.
I know I structured my project by revealing different techniques used in the three debates, but during my presentation, I want to focus on possibly three main types of rhetorical techniques that stood out, and then branching from there of the smaller types of examples. This allows me to easily incorporate any specific visual aids (the mini episodes I’m currently working on or any other interesting video that other researchers have created to showcase a specific type of technique). Then, as I did during my research, I can find out if these main types of rhetorical techniques have been used in any, if not all, the three presidential debates (just to make it more reasonable).
I’ll address two other topics, that don’t specifically talk about a specific rhetoric, but rather the counterargument (that Trump’s rhetoric is weak) and the other argument that maybe Clinton’s campaign was just weak after all.
By focusing on main rhetorical techniques to drive my presentation, I can also easily showcase comparisons between Trump and Clinton (and possibly even other president’s rhetoric) to strengthen my logos.
I will begin to start making my presentation and speech as well.
Thank you for reading!
